
Reinventing my life in my 40s isn’t just about shedding old habits or stepping into a new career—it’s also about glowing from the inside out. And let’s be real, glowing skin is the ultimate accessory for any midlife reinvention! Skincare isn’t just self-care; it’s self-love. Over the years, I’ve honed a daily routine that blends products, diet, and lifestyle habits to keep my skin radiant, healthy, and youthful (goodbye, dullness, hello, glow!).
Today, I’m sharing my skincare secrets, favorite products, and wellness practices that have become non-negotiables in my life.
Why Daily Skincare Matters, Especially in Midlife
Your 40s and beyond are the perfect time to elevate your skincare game. Why? Because our skin starts to produce less collagen and elastin as we age, and environmental damage begins to show its effects. But with the right care, you can absolutely keep your skin looking its best.
The trick? Consistency. Think of your skin like your favorite houseplant—it thrives with daily TLC.
Step 1: Glow from the Inside Out
Let’s talk about what we’re feeding our skin—literally. The journey to radiant skin starts with what we put into our bodies.
Hydration: Your Skin’s Best Friend
If you’re not drinking at least 100-120 ounces of water a day, what are you even doing? Staying hydrated flushes out toxins, plumps up your skin, and gives you that “lit from within” look. Plus, water helps all those expensive serums and creams actually work better.
Sleep: Beauty Rest Is No Joke
I’m a firm believer in 7-9 hours of sleep every night. No excuses. Sleep is when your body repairs itself, and yes, that includes your skin. If you’re skimping on rest, your skin will let everyone know with dark circles and dullness.
Green Tea: Antioxidant Powerhouse
One cup of green tea every day is my secret weapon. Packed with antioxidants, green tea fights inflammation and protects your skin from environmental damage. It’s like a hug for your cells.
Collagen for Days
I swear by grass-fed, grass-finished beef bone broth and Sports Research Collagen Peptides (one scoop in my coffee daily). Collagen is the glue that holds our skin together, and as we age, we need a little extra help.
Eat the Rainbow
When it comes to diet, I’m all about whole foods, lean proteins, and a vibrant variety of fruits and veggies. Think antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals galore. Processed foods? Hard pass.

Morning Skincare Routine: Starting the Day Right
Mornings are about setting the tone for the day—and for your skin. My AM routine is all about hydration, protection, and prep.
1. Cleanse
I start with the La Roche-Posay Hydrating Gentle Cleanser. It’s creamy, non-stripping, and perfect for giving my skin a fresh start.
2. Antibacterial Spray

3. Toner Times Two
• First up, Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica Toner to close pores and calm my skin.
• Then, I’m Fro Rice Toner to help with discoloration and give my skin that dewy, glass-like finish.
4. Hydration Boosters
A few drops of Mixsoon Glacier Water (hyaluronic acid) work magic to keep my skin plump and hydrated.
5. Niacinamide
Cosrx 15% niacinamide serum brightens, minimizes pores, and fights redness. It’s a multitasking miracle.
6. Moisturize
Bioheal Boh Probioderm 3D Lifting Cream (morning and night) is my go-to for firm, nourished skin.

8. Sunscreen

Evening Skincare Routine: Repair and Renew
Evenings are all about cleansing, repairing, and prepping your skin to heal overnight.
1. Double Cleanse
• Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil melts away makeup and sunscreen.
• Follow up with La Roche-Posay Hydrating Gentle Cleanser to get every last bit of grime.
2. Red Light Therapy
For 25 minutes, I let red light therapy work its anti-aging magic, boosting collagen production and reducing inflammation.

• Consistency Is Key:You don’t need a million products—just ones that work for your skin. Pick, choose and try. It’s trial and error and when you find your skincare routine that works then stick to a routine.
• Don’t Skip SPF: Even on cloudy days or when you’re indoors, sunscreen is non-negotiable.
• Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Drink your water and moisturize religiously. Your skin will thank you.

My Weekend To Do’s.
Every Friday night or Saturday early morning I plan my to do’s for the weekend.
First I make notes in my notes app on my phone on Friday at work. I brainstorm and thought download all the things I want to accomplish this weekend.
Then by Saturday morning I transfer it to my To Do Notebook. I keep track of everything that weekend and check off what I complete.
It keeps me organized and productive.
So I thought I’d share with you my process so incase you were looking for some inspiration.

Mostly natural, 30 lbs, was when I was on Zepbound for 3 months back in 2024.
On a dedicated weight loss and wellness journey since May 2022.
I am 48 years old.
I walk, stretch, body weight exercies, kettle ball exercises & diastasis recti exercises. Was part of a gym for 1.5 years. Now doing at-home workouts.
Meal prep every Sunday. Have certain high protein, high fiber meal on rotation. Drink a ton of water. Cut out sugar & white flour.
Meat, Veggies, Fruit, Dairy, Fish, Whole Grain - Whole foods. Very little processed foods.
Today…
