
I have spent most of my life on autopilot, living by habit, reacting rather than acting, and often feeling like life is happening to me and not for me. At 47 years old, as a single mom of an adult son, a woman who has battled overeating and financial issues, I have finally had it.
I am done living by default.
This is the year I chose intention.
I am claiming my power and intentionally creating a life that aligns with my values, dreams, and purpose. I don’t want to feel like I am just getting through the days; I want to be there fully in them. I want my health, relationships, work, finances, and daily habits to reflect the kind of woman I want to be: strong, confident, and present in her own life. So, today, I’m explaining in detail how I will begin living an intentional life at 47 to inspire you to do the same. If you feel like you’re just sitting around and life passes you by, keep reading.
Living an intentional life means making daily deliberate choices that reflect your values and long-term vision. It is about controlling your life instead of just letting it happen.
Intentional living is about Being healthy and not being obese through emotional eating. I want to build financial stability so I never have to worry about money again. I want to build strong, solid relationships and surround myself with positive people. I want to build a wardrobe, beauty, and lifestyle that makes me feel beautiful and confident. I want to grow in my career and purpose, inspiring midlife women to wake up and become new. I want to deepen my faith and self-development to remain close to my highest self. No more auto-pilot. No more settling. Only purposeful, conscious decisions that bring me closer to the life I deserve.
The first step in intentional living? Taking full responsibility. I am where I am today because of my own decisions. But I refuse to have my past determine my future. Rather than waiting for the perfect time that never comes, I am choosing to start NOW. What I’m doing: Removing excuses and self-destruction. Taking responsibility for my actions, decisions, and mindset. Choosing progression over perfection. Because here’s the truth: nothing will change if I don’t change anything.
I have been overeating for a long time; I have used food to comfort, reward, and even escape. But in this new chapter of my life, I am claiming my health to lose weight and gain strength, energy, and freedom. My intentional health plan includes mindful eating, which means no more emotional or mindless snacking will occur. Every meal will be taken with thought and will be nutritious. Consistent Movement: Five sessions at the gym per week, 8-10k steps per day, and three strength training sessions per week. Holistic Wellness: Check-ups, gut health, and HRT or not HRT. Sunday Meal Planning: To stay on track and not have to think about what to eat. My goal? I want to build a life I love, not one I must leave.
Financial instability has been a stressor in my life for too long. But I refuse to let money on me. I am getting financial freedom and confidence and will learn to earn, save, and spend wisely. My intentional financial plan includes: Every dollar should be budgeted so I know where my money is going. Keep on eliminating debt and increasing savings to have real stability. I will enlarge my business and brand to generate sustainable income. Live below the means while still having a great life. I do not want to feel financially overwhelmed. Instead, I want to build a life where money is a tool for freedom, not a source of stress.
We are surrounded by people who can build us up or pull us down. I want to surround myself with vibrating, supportive, loving people, starting with what I am doing with my time. What this looks like for me: Spend more time with the people I love. Set healthy boundaries with negative people. Put away your phone and be present during conversations. I want to grow my online community of midlife women reinventing themselves along with me. It is the most important connection in life, and I want my relationships to be meaningful.
How we dress and care for ourselves is how we feel inside. This year, I am fully into style, beauty, and self-care, making me feel like my best version. My plan for an intentional, confident aesthetic: Pick out clothes I like and make me feel powerful. Take care of my skin and myself to look and feel my best. Step into my “character energy.” No more hiding, only thriving. Making sure that I look good is not for the sake of others but for my own sake.
I have a deep passion for helping midlife women wake up and become new, as I am doing. This means developing my brand, blog, and online community with love, intention, and purpose. My plan for an intentional career path: Create valuable content for midlife women. Grow my social media, blog, and email list to reach more people. Create coaching, retreats, and digital products to help others. Work with brands that are similar to my mission. This is my legacy work, and I am putting all my effort into it.
I don’t just want to exist; I want to live. That means allowing joy, adventure, and experience to occupy my life. What I’m prioritizing: Travel to places that make me feel happy. Say yes to life and its opportunities. Find new interests and move out of your comfort zone. To live in the moment and appreciate life. I am not going to let life happen to me. This is my time.
The Time Is NOW. I am not going to wait until someday. I am choosing to live an intentional life now. This journey won’t be perfect, but it will be purposeful. And if you’re ready to stop drifting and start designing the life you truly want, I invite you to join me.

My Weekend To Do’s.
Every Friday night or Saturday early morning I plan my to do’s for the weekend.
First I make notes in my notes app on my phone on Friday at work. I brainstorm and thought download all the things I want to accomplish this weekend.
Then by Saturday morning I transfer it to my To Do Notebook. I keep track of everything that weekend and check off what I complete.
It keeps me organized and productive.
So I thought I’d share with you my process so incase you were looking for some inspiration.

Mostly natural, 30 lbs, was when I was on Zepbound for 3 months back in 2024.
On a dedicated weight loss and wellness journey since May 2022.
I am 48 years old.
I walk, stretch, body weight exercies, kettle ball exercises & diastasis recti exercises. Was part of a gym for 1.5 years. Now doing at-home workouts.
Meal prep every Sunday. Have certain high protein, high fiber meal on rotation. Drink a ton of water. Cut out sugar & white flour.
Meat, Veggies, Fruit, Dairy, Fish, Whole Grain - Whole foods. Very little processed foods.
Today…

Walked 45 min.

About a 75 minutes and then breakfast and shower.
