
Over the last two weeks in this series, we have talked about Awakening and Identity.
In Week 1, we talked about awakening — that moment in midlife when a woman begins to realize something in her life no longer fits. She starts feeling restless. She starts wanting more truth, more peace, more purpose, and more alignment. She starts waking up to herself.
And once a woman begins asking those questions, this next pillar often rises to the surface:
Welcome to Week 3 of The Midlife GlowGetter 8-Week Awakening Series.
And this one is tender.
Because so many women in midlife are not just tired.
They are carrying.
They are carrying:
And the hard part is, many women have gotten so good at functioning that they do not always realize how much they are still carrying.
That is why healing matters so much.
Healing in midlife is not about becoming perfect.
It is not about never being triggered again.
It is not about pretending the past did not matter.
It is not about one journal entry, one cry, or one breakthrough fixing everything.
Healing is about becoming less ruled by old pain.
It is about:
Healing is not erasing your story.
It is changing your relationship to the story.
That is a very different thing.
This is one of the biggest truths of this pillar.
A woman can be:
and still not be deeply healed.
She can go to work.
Pay bills.
Raise kids.
Take care of parents.
Keep the house running.
Show up for everybody.
Make things work.
And from the outside, that can look like she is doing just fine.
But underneath, she may still be carrying:
That is why so many women in midlife feel confused.
They think:
Why am I still struggling with this?
Why do I still react like this?
Why do I still feel this heaviness?
And sometimes the answer is:
Because functioning and healing are not the same thing.
Healing usually begins when a woman stops minimizing what she feels.
She stops saying:
And she starts saying:
That kind of honesty can feel scary.
But it is also powerful.
Because healing cannot begin where truth is always being pushed down.
A lot of women learned to survive by minimizing.
They had to keep going.
They had responsibilities.
They had no room to fall apart.
They had to hold everything together.
But now, in midlife, many women are starting to realize:
I do not want to just keep coping.
I want to actually heal.
That matters.
This is one of the most helpful things a woman can understand.
Pain that is not processed often becomes behavior.
It turns into patterns.
For example:
That is why so many women ask:
And sometimes the answer is not:
because you are weak
because you are lazy
because you are broken
Sometimes the answer is:
because something in you is still hurting
That creates a much more compassionate and honest place to begin.
This is one of the deepest parts of healing.
A woman may not only need to grieve what happened.
She may also need to grieve:
This kind of grief is often quiet.
But it is real.
And if it is never named, it can turn into:
Healing often requires a woman to finally admit:
This mattered.
This hurt.
I lost something here.
That is not weakness.
That is honesty.
This is something many women need to hear clearly.
Needing healing does not make you weak.
In fact, many of the women who need healing most are the women who have been the strongest for the longest.
The women who:
Those women are not weak.
They are often just tired of carrying pain in silence.
And midlife becomes the season where many women start realizing:
I do not just want to keep being strong.
I want to feel lighter.
I want to feel freer.
I want to feel more whole.
That is not weakness.
That is wisdom.
A lot of women try to heal by attacking themselves.
They say:
But that voice is not healing.
That voice is shame.
And shame usually keeps women stuck.
Healing needs a different tone.
Not a tone that excuses everything.
Not a tone that avoids responsibility.
But a tone that says:
Compassion does not make women weaker.
It often makes healing possible.
Because women are much more likely to grow when they feel safe enough to be honest.
This may be one of the deepest truths of all.
A lot of women are not only healing from what other people did.
They are also healing from how long they have been leaving themselves.
Self-abandonment can look like:
At some point, healing begins when a woman asks:
That question changes everything.
Because healing deepens when self-abandonment begins to end.
This is something women need so much more permission around.
Healing does not happen in a straight line.
A woman may think:
I thought I dealt with this.
Why is this still coming up?
Why am I here again?
I thought I healed this already.
But healing is layered.
A woman may revisit the same wound more than once.
That does not mean she failed.
It may mean she is meeting it from a deeper place now.
Healing often looks like:
That is normal.
It is not failure.
It is the reality of healing in layers.
Healing is not only emotional or mental.
The body carries things too.
It carries:
That can show up as:
That is why healing cannot only be about mindset.
It also includes:
Many women do not need to push harder.
They need more space to heal.

My Weekend To Do’s.
Every Friday night or Saturday early morning I plan my to do’s for the weekend.
First I make notes in my notes app on my phone on Friday at work. I brainstorm and thought download all the things I want to accomplish this weekend.
Then by Saturday morning I transfer it to my To Do Notebook. I keep track of everything that weekend and check off what I complete.
It keeps me organized and productive.
So I thought I’d share with you my process so incase you were looking for some inspiration.

Mostly natural, 30 lbs, was when I was on Zepbound for 3 months back in 2024.
On a dedicated weight loss and wellness journey since May 2022.
I am 48 years old.
I walk, stretch, body weight exercies, kettle ball exercises & diastasis recti exercises. Was part of a gym for 1.5 years. Now doing at-home workouts.
Meal prep every Sunday. Have certain high protein, high fiber meal on rotation. Drink a ton of water. Cut out sugar & white flour.
Meat, Veggies, Fruit, Dairy, Fish, Whole Grain - Whole foods. Very little processed foods.
Today…
